Since commencing at the Bar, Philip has developed a broad litigation practice, including a particular focus on the practice areas of Employment and Industrial Relations law and Administrative law.

Prior to commencing at the Bar, Philip was an Associate at a boutique Industrial Relations and Employment law firm, where he advised and acted for private Employer and Employee clients in relation to enterprise bargaining, employment contracts, workplace disputes and termination matters. Philip has also previously worked in-house as an Industrial Officer at Together Queensland.

Philip draws upon experience from roles he has held at the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability (Disability Royal Commission), the Fair Work Commission (FWC), and the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT).

Philip has previously assisted the IRSQ and universities in providing training and guidance in advocacy skills.

Outside of his practice, Philip explores many passions including music and languages.

    • Appeared as counsel for the successful Applicant in the two-day hearing of an application for an unfair dismissal remedy.
  • Bye v Hend [2025] ACTSC 94
    • Appeared as counsel for the successful Plaintiff in an application to withdraw admissions deemed to have been made by operation of ACT court rules where no response had been given by the Plaintiff to a notice to admit facts.
