I am a mediator and barrister. The main focus of my practice is that of a mediator although I do still appear as a barrister in the occasional dispute.
I am an accredited mediator with the Bar Association of Queensland in accordance with the Australian National Mediation Accreditation System. I am an approved mediator for both the Supreme and District Courts and I have been a member of the Bar Association of Queensland’s Alternate Dispute Resolution Committee since 2015. I have been appointed as a mediator by the Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman (ASBFEO) to help resolve various Franchise Disputes and by the Queensland Rural and Industry Development Authority (QRIDA) to help resolve Farm Debt disputes.
I have been listed as a leading Mediator in Queensland in the 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 Doyles Guides to the Australian Legal Profession.
As a mediator, I am able to draw upon more than 33 years practicing as a commercial barrister. As a barrister I enjoyed a practice that covered many areas of law including a wide variety of commercial matters, personal injuries, wills and estates and further provision applications, insolvency, construction and professional negligence. I appeared in all the trial and appellate levels of the Queensland Courts and the Federal Courts including the High Court of Australia. I have appeared in jurisdictions from Cairns to Tasmania and I have appeared as a barrister representing plaintiffs, defendants, insurers and third parties in hearings and mediations.
I have over 30 years experience in various executive roles in corporations participating in business services, property, property management and mobile data collection and communications.
